Privacy policy
Plain English. What SiteFeed Takeoff and this website do with your information, which is very little.
Draft. This policy describes the current version of the app (1.9). Items marked To confirm must be checked and filled in before the app is submitted to the App Store.
The short version
- You choose which PDF drawings to open. The app only sees the files you pick.
- Your projects are stored on your iPad. The current version doesn't send them anywhere.
- Exports and backups only happen when you ask, and they go where you choose.
- No account is needed. There's nothing to sign up for.
- No advertising, no advertising trackers, and we don't sell your information.
- This website has no analytics and sets no cookies.
Who we are

The app
Drawings you open
When you start a project, you pick a PDF using the iPad's Files picker. The app copies that file into the project on your iPad so it can show and measure it. It can't see any other files.
Projects and settings
Measurements, calibrations, tools, prices and settings are stored on your iPad, inside the app. In the current version they are not uploaded to us or to anyone else. If your iPad backs up to iCloud or a computer, Apple's device backup may include the app's data; that is controlled by your iPad settings, not by us.
Exports and backups
A PDF or CSV export, or a project backup, is only created when you ask for one. You choose where it goes: Files, AirDrop, Mail, or another app. Once you send it, it's handled by whichever app or service you sent it with.
No account, no tracking
There's no account or sign-in. The app contains no advertising and no advertising or analytics trackers, and we don't sell or share your information.
Crash reports and diagnostics
The app itself doesn't collect usage data or crash reports. To confirm that no third-party crash reporting or analytics SDK is included in the released build
If you've chosen to share analytics with app developers in your iPad's settings (Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements), Apple may pass anonymised crash reports to us. You control that setting, and you can turn it off at any time. To confirm whether Apple's opt-in crash reports are used, and how they are handled
If you email us
If you contact support, we'll use your email address and whatever you send (for example, a screenshot) to reply and fix the problem. We keep it only as long as needed for that, and we don't add you to any mailing list. To confirm retention period for support emails, and the email provider used
This website
This website has no analytics, no cookies, no advertising and no third-party scripts, fonts or embeds. It doesn't load anything from other websites. There are no forms, and it doesn't collect email addresses.
It is hosted by Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, it processes technical information such as IP addresses to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse, and may keep short-term logs. To confirm the hosting provider's log retention and its role (processor) under its data processing terms
Children
SiteFeed Takeoff is a work tool for people in the building trades and isn't aimed at children. It doesn't knowingly collect information from anyone, including children. To confirm children's policy wording and the App Store age rating
Your rights
Under UK data protection law (the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), you can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and object to how it's used. Because the app keeps your work on your iPad, in practice the only personal information we're likely to hold is a support email you've sent us.
To make a request, email support@sitefeed.co.uk. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
ICO registration: To confirm whether ICO registration / the data protection fee applies, and the registration number if so
Changes to this policy
This policy describes the current version of the app. If a future version adds anything that involves information leaving your iPad, such as optional cloud sync or an account, this policy will be updated before that feature is released, explaining what is involved and how to choose. The "last updated" date at the top will change whenever the policy does.
